Here's our little girl! We are so excited to meet her and we're half way there! Gigi has already asked if she can hold her hand. Then she asked if she could hold all of her. We're still in the process of thinking of names. If you feel like passing on suggestions, we will have more in our pool to consider. Thanks for all your warm wishes and prayers.

This morning I had an ultrasound and it looks like our baby is very healthy and active. I'm eleven weeks and two days along and we're so excited to welcome this new little one into our home. Gigi is pretty certain that she's going to have a sister. It's too early to tell, but we're absolutely thrilled! This is a huge blessing for us.

The other day, Gigi and I walked to the store to get some milk. Before we walked out the door, I put a hat on. Gigi said, "Oh! I want a hat!" and she ran and got the one pictured above. She wore it all the way there and into the store, and she even got compliments on it. She has such subtle fashion preferences.

We just celebrated Gigi's second birthday and got a great family picture. I think it represents our family so well! We have both sets of grandparents with Gigi and me. Lance had to take the picture.

Gershwin's World

In our letter to birth parents, Cyndi mentions I had some jazz playing in my truck when I picked her up. If anyone's interested, the album was Herbie Hancock's Gershwin's World. I think I'd just put it in a few minutes before, so it was on track 2 ("It Ain't Necessarily So") when Cyndi and I got in the vehicle.

Here's the thing: after many years of being set up on blind dates, I'd evolved a little "test". I'd play a jazz album on the CD player and hope my date would at least recognize the genre. Cyndi was the first to identify the music as jazz. Just as importantly she liked it!
